Water Stations

Aid stations providing water and medical support are located at every mile along the Half Marathon/20K. All water stations serve water and UCAN Hydrate. UCAN Fuel and GU Gel is served shortly before Mile 7 on the Half Marathon/20K course.

Each water station has a team captain and up to 40 volunteers. Groups that man the water stations vary from youth groups and boy scout troops to local businesses and friends who have volunteered for many years.

ON-COURSE NUTRITION

The Faxon Law New Haven Road Race strives to provide our runners with the best possible on-course nutrition. We are partnered again with Generation UCAN, a Connecticut company committed to fueling runners the healthy way.

Generation UCAN is the go-to sports nutrition of Boston Marathon winner, Meb Keflezighi, and everyday runners looking to improve their times and stay fit.

UCAN Fuel is available before the race and at one aid station on course. UCAN’s revolutionary sports drink is powered by SuperStarch, a unique carbohydrate that delivers steady, long-lasting energy by keeping blood sugar stable. SuperStarch was originally developed for kids with life threatening hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and helps runners avoid the highs and lows in energy caused by sugar-based products.

UCAN Hydrate electrolyte replacement drink (no sugar or calories) is available at every aid station for hydration and will be served at the finish. UCAN Hydrate electrolyte drink was designed by an Olympic dietitian to replenish the mix of nutrients lost in sweat.

Training with UCAN allows athletes to sustain energy on fewer calories and burn more fat for fuel instead of relying on constantly refueling with sugars. All UCAN products contain no sugar, are gluten-free, and easy on the stomach.
