Help restore the Elm City Footrace mural!

The Elm City Footrace mural by local artist, Kwadwo Adae, was commissioned by the City of New Haven is located on the Farmington Canal Greenway behind Shelton Avenue between Thompson and Starr streets in The Newhallville neighborhood of New Haven. Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven has agreed to accept donations on behalf of the Elm City Footrace mural. All donations will go towards the restoration of the mural.

 The Children’s Tumor Foundation

The Children’s Tumor Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to driving research, expanding knowledge and advancing care for the millions of people worldwide living with neurofibromatosis (NF). NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and affects one in every 3,000 people of all populations. To fundraise or donate, click here.

Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services

In 2016, IRIS welcomed 530 refugees to Connecticut– men, women, and children who fled persecution in their home countries and were invited by the US government to find peace and safety here.  IRIS resettles refugees primarily from Syria, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, and Sudan, and meets their basic needs—housing, food, furniture and household goods, and clothing—as well as provides services to help them integrate into the community and become economically self-sufficient. IRIS offers case management; daily English class; healthcare coordination; wellness programs including mental health services and social groups; employment services; education and youth services; and immigration legal services.

New Haven Legal Assistance Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to very low-income individuals in the greater New Haven area.
